How do I use Atempo Tina with Wasabi?

Atempo Tina provides advanced backup and restore functionality across multi-platforms, whether physical or virtual, and to multiple destinations (Cloud, Tape, Deduplication Engine). Please follow the steps outlined below to configure Wasabi as a cloud storage target for your Atempo Tina backups.

Reference Architecture:

Prerequisites

  • An active Wasabi account (Click here)
  • Versioning is enabled on the bucket in Wasabi (Click here to find out how)
  • Installed & configured Atempo Tina software

Configuration

1. Login to the Tina console

2. Select Backup in the left panel, then click Storage

3. Select Add new Storage and then Select Cloud Storage, press Next button

4. Enter a name for the Storage then Select Cloud type: Generic S3

5. Enter the appropriate Wasabi service URL in the Cloud destination server name Click here for all the Wasabi service URLs

    1. Enter your personal Access Key ID
    2. Enter your Access Key Password
    3. Enter your Bucket Name

6. Choose Create Bucket

7. Define the Data retention pool information: Storage Pool name & Choose whether you need infinite or limited retention

8. Click the Finish button, your storage is now set with Wasabi cloud settings

9. Configure a backup by selecting your Agent and strategy, select Strategy for backup to Cloud click Next

10. Launch the backup by pressing the Start button as shown below.

11. Once completed you will be able to see the result into your Wasabi account within your bucket list

Enabling Object Lock

Tina now supports data immutability with Wasabi. To support the Wasabi object lock, a Tina version 4.7 or above is required. Atempo supports both compliance and governance retention modes.

Please follow the steps below to create immutable backups.

11. Create an object lock enabled Wasabi bucket. (for more information click here)

12. Login to the Tina console. Add backup storage by following steps 2-5 above.

13. Choose your Options.

14. Configure Object Lock if data immutability is needed.

15. Define the Data retention pool information: Storage Pool name

16. Click the Finish button, your storage is now set with Wasabi cloud settings.

17. Configure your backup by following steps 9 - 10 above. Your backups will now be immutable per the retention period configured.
